melthebell
Probably because they've come to realise the enormity of what they've had done to them. The analogy I like to give (this was told to me by an acquaintance who was circumcised in his late teens on medical grounds) is to imagine taking away most of a child's tastebuds. They would still be able to eat but the enjoyment and intensity of the food would be lost on them to some extent. They themselves wouldn't think it was a great deal because that's all they've ever known but everybody else would understand what they're missing knowing they have many fewer tastebuds. but your NOT losing anything cos you have it done before you know what it does or feels like im circumsized and get plenty of sexual satisfaction and feeling believe me

Cyclone
You think you "get plenty of sexual satisfaction and feeling". But how would you know... According to people who actually have some evidence (ie were circumcised as adults) you've lost out.

rubydazzler
Now, guys be nice! melthebell's been truthful about his thang, and it's not really fair to try and unsettle him now. He's happy, leave him in his bliss. To recap, we've established that the original religious aim of circumcision of both sexes was to reduce sexual pleasure which might have led to over indulgence and less time for worshipping, in more recent times to try to prevent masturbation. We've more or less dismissed the hygiene and prevention of disease angle and decided that the foreskin is an important part of the male sexual organs and definitely involved in female pleasure. We've also found that the operation can lead to unintended consequences and even death. So the mission should be to try to prevent this happening in the future, not to tell happy men they're living in a fool's paradise. Yes?
Jeffrey Shaw
Back to the topic: 1. Circumcision is a legal obligation for male Jews aged 8 days. This is irrespective of health benefits stemming from it. Exception: an unwell child's circumcision is postponed. 2. Circumcision is not a legal obligation for any other male. It is undertaken only on health grounds. So all non-Jewish contributors need not get so aerated; it ha little or no relevance to them.

No. Let's do both, it's much more fun and gives me a smug feeling of superiority.

If there was a religious doctrine that said you had to remove one eye from a new born child they could function perfectly well with just one and it would be normal for them but they'd still be at a disadvantage compared to somebody with two eyes.
