Jeffrey Shaw
we've established that the original religious aim of circumcision of both sexes was to reduce sexual pleasure No, we haven't. One commentator gave an opinion saying so. None of us knows the rationale of the Legislator. And none of that allows or contemplates mutilation of female genitalia either. Yes we have, the overwhelming evidence is that this is very much the case. Like most religious laws/doctrines, these are plagiarised from certain non religious/cultural practices done for mainly practical reasons because of the environmental and social situations of the time. Luckily more Jews and Muslims are beginning to see this as the barbaric practice that it is and that it has no place in the modern world. http://www.jewsagainstcircumcision.org/ http://www.norm-uk.org/circumcision_jewish.html http://intactnews.org/node/103/1311885181/jews-speak-out-favor-banning-circumcision-minors
melthebell
You think you "get plenty of sexual satisfaction and feeling". But how would you know... According to people who actually have some evidence (ie were circumcised as adults) you've lost out. I DO get plenty of satisfaction and feeling now theres a difference between what i DO get and what i mightve got before BUT having been circumsized while a small boy i dont know what im missing out on and thats fine because im quite happy with the feelings i do get, infact if i had any more i might get a bit of an itchy trigger finger and then the missus wouldnt be as happy erm

You're still wrong, of course, but it's irrelevant- you not being a Jew.
RootsBooster
but your NOT losing anything cos you have it done before you know what it does or feels like im circumsized and get plenty of sexual satisfaction and feeling believe me You lost your freedom of choice Now, guys be nice! melthebell's been truthful about his thang, and it's not really fair to try and unsettle him now. He's happy, leave him in his bliss. I can't help but think that on most other issues, Mel would be speaking out in favour of freedom of choice. I agree though, there's no need to have jabs at him. RootsBooster
Back to the topic: 1. Circumcision is a legal obligation for male Jews aged 8 days. This is irrespective of health benefits stemming from it. Exception: an unwell child's circumcision is postponed. 2. Circumcision is not a legal obligation for any other male. It is undertaken only on health grounds. So all non-Jewish contributors need not get so aerated; it ha little or no relevance to them. It's a legal obligation for Jews? Are you sure? Who gets locked up if the child is uncircumcised, the parents or the baby? Edited June 25, 2012 by RootsBooster added "a"

RootsBooster
i had no choice it was medical You lost your freedom of choice. A medical reason outweighs the loss of that freedom though. as for choice like it or not children dont have choice they have parents deciding for them, banning it takes the choice away from the parents, seems ironic to give choice you remove choice When it comes to the removal of a body part, the rights of the owner of that body should rank higher than anyone else's, if there is no important reason for the removal of said part. Most choices made by parents for their children are reversible when the child is old enough to choose for themselves. They will still have the freedom to choose when they are older. With circumcision, the choice is taken away.
six45ive
You're still wrong, of course, but it's irrelevant- you not being a Jew. You're getting a wish for me to be wrong confused with me being correct. Just like within the muslim community the barriers within the Jewish community are being eroded as can be seen here. http://www.jewsagainstcircumcision.org/ http://www.norm-uk.org/circumcision_jewish.html http://intactnews.org/node/103/13118...mcision-minors
