WeX
I know a lady very well who cares for elderly people. She knows of several who have a wish to die as life has become that harsh for them under the tory regime. One of them died about a month ago. Tory regime? Utter political BS! Happ Hazzard
How is life any more harsh for old people under the Tories than it was under Labour?

PeteMorris
How is life any more harsh for old people under the Tories than it was under Labour? I think it's probably best to treat it as a bit of an unthought-out comment. benefit of the doubt and all that eh? I've heard of plenty of cases where people in old age 'seem' to simply just give up the struggle for life. Even in my own family!
Happ Hazzard
Maybe Tony Nicklinson would have died sooner if he hadn't been fighting for his right to die?
Jeffrey Shaw
Either way: a. he wanted to die; and b. he has. Job done.
PeteMorris
Maybe Tony Nicklinson would have died sooner if he hadn't been fighting for his right to die? Maybe so. Maybe in a perverse way, it gave him a reason to live. When the courts rejected his wish to die, that took away his reason to keep on fighting? Jeffrey Shaw
When the courts rejected his wish to die Er, not quite. The Court held that murdering him would be a criminal offence- obviously.
