Marx Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 On Saturday 30th June, at 7 pm, Home-Start Sheffield will be begin celebrating “Thirty years of Home-Start Sheffield” with an evening event at Birkdale School, near the Botanical Gardens, featuring local 5-piece Rock covers band 'Heads will Roll', guaranteed to get people moving. They also hope to raise money from this event to provide training for new volunteers. The price of £10 per person includes a traditional 'pie and pea supper' served before the band takes to the stage. There is a fully licensed bar available. Home-Start is a unique Charity offering help, information and hands-on support for parents of young children who are finding the experience somewhat overwhelming. They recruit and train volunteers locally (usually parents themselves), to visit families at home and offer informal, friendly and confidential support. Their aim is to support parents in enabling their children to have a positive start in life. Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationship with their children and widen their links with the local community. Marx Posted June 21, 2012 Author Share Posted June 21, 2012 It finishes before eleven. The band will be doing two sets. I'm not sure about younger children as it will be loud and fairly late.
