saunaman
Is it just me that finds this all a bit "Big Brother " ? What exactly are we supposed to "stay calm" about ? Am only surprised that the mugs etc don't have a reassuring Cath Kidson -type floral background , which I personally would find truly reassuring . So let's just "Carry On" and "Keep Calm" , the future is bright !
HeadingNorth
Wasn't this something to do with the Queen being asked how she coped with everything thrown at her during her reign... "I try to just keep calm and carry on" or words to that effect. I'm fairly sure it was never intended as advice for the rest of us, and even if it were it would only apply in a fairly limited set of circumstances. VideoPro
Go bonkers and cause a riot would have been the better advice.
Leah-Lacie
All what? I don't know, are you referring to a news story or something else? I have no idea what you are talking about. In summary, what? Reference is to the cards and other novelty items with the slogan 'Keep Calm and Carry On'
Anna B
'Keep calm and carry on' was a World war ll slogan used for a British poster thought up by the Ministry of Defence (or maybe it was the Ministry of Information) for use in the event of an invasion. They were forgotten about until some very old copies were found a couple of years ago, and some enterprising person ressurected them for use on mugs etc.

rubydazzler
I've had mugs "Keep Calm and Log Onto Facebook". They sold like hotcakes. It's just something that seems to have captured the popular imagination. I think AnnaB has the right explanation.
chem1st
My ashtray says keep calm and have a smoke. Recently I was unable to get any DUTYFREE and I was having kitttens. Then I managed to get a load, and now I am calm again. Avoid excessive tax like the plague and stay calm!
