Britain is Full and over crowding?

Recommended Posts

You think that a south african website proves that England is still legally a country

You must be very selective in your reading then. If England is a country, maybe you can show me your English passport? Or point to the English seat on the UN council? For that matter maybe you can find a parliament for England? Or an English MP?

Whilst you're doing these things, can you remind me what the title says and how the population density of a sub section of the area this topic is about is relevant?

Now you've hit the nail on the head, we are a country not in control of our own destiny, Scotland has a parliament, Wales as something very close in the Welsh assembly, So not only are we the most densely populated country in Europe we also don’t have an independent voice in Europe, we can’t determine our own laws, we can’t even get what other EU citizens get.

Even our news papers call us a country, England is most crowded country in Europe

England is Europe's most crowded countryEngland has become the most crowded major country in Europe,

And the BBC say's England is once again the most densely populated country in Europe.

England is already the most densely populated country in Europe,

Immigration levels have pushed population density in England to a higher level than any other major country in Europe.

WALES has become one of the most densely populated countries in Europe, figures reveal.

It has more people per square kilometre than Northern Ireland, Poland, France and Spain.

The figures also show that England has become the most densely populated large country in Europe – overtaking Holland, traditionally the most highly populated.

Researchers from the House of Commons Library have revealed Wales is the ninth most populated with 145.6 people per square kilometre.

that the first one to come up, then page after page on google if you can be bothered

Is this a better link?

SCANDAL OF 150,000 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ON BENEFITS

MORE than 150,000 illegal immigrants are said to be claiming benefits despite not having any rights to live in Britain, it was claimed last night.

Government ministers have found that Labour allowed tens of thousands of people to wrongly qualify for sickness benefits and maternity pay – costing the tax-payer “tens of millions of pounds”.

It is thought most of the 155,000 abusers of the system did so by outstaying their working visas or managing to find employment without having any work permit.

shall we have a sweep...my moneys on the former...there again it could be on the latter if the former is true ..or there again it could be on the former if the latter is true..what about thick and uninformed can I put my money on that

I have yet to read anything that says England isn't a country or that Britain is a country.

The United Kingdome is the union of three countries; we even have deferent laws in each country. If as you say we are just one country then there wouldn’t be a Scottish parliament or a Welsh assembly.

The UK is the union of four countries, not three. It's the United Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland.

Most MPs are for English constituencies so England could quite easily determine its own laws if they chose to vote en bloc. They don't for party political reasons. Scotland and Wales have only had their own parliament and assemblies for a little over 10 years and little has changed in England as a result since.

England is a country - witness our wonderful football team - but the polity is the UK. Devolution in the three other countries doesn't change that.

Excellent post MrSmith. Some good links there which altogether make a compelling argument for trying to curb our population growth and a radical rethink of our immigration system.

I support UKIP at the moment (thinking of joining them as a member too) who want an English Parliament, but I don't think that's the way to go as I think it would be another expensive layer of government and bureaucracy, another barrier to get change through. The thing to do IMO is to ban Scottish, Welsh and NI MPs from voting on stuff that they have devolved powers for.

The other thing we need to do is leave the EU if we are to ever be masters of our own immigration policy.

Governments everywhere should also start to discuss population control as a serious issue, and a serious threat to global stability and sustainability. I'd like to see our Government adopt a policy of encouraging parents to have a maximum of three children. I'm glad to see some discussion of only paying child benefit for the first three kids which sends out the right message.

Actually no shane, I'm lurking furtively waiting for one of the forum gobfrothers to become over zealous with their language (which is inevitable) resulting in the thread being closed :hihi:
