THURS 5 JULY

ANDREW LAWRENCE: Is Going To Get You

Star of Live at the Apollo, now a regular on Channel 4's Stand Up for the Week, Andrew Lawrence arrives in Edinburgh following a sell-out 50 date tour of the UK. Twice nominated Best UK Headline Act at the Chortle Awards 2010/11, also a former double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, audiences can expect Lawrence to deliver an hour of top-class stand-up.

'He discharges kamikaze philosophies a-hundred-to-the-dozen. And it is outstanding.' (List)

'His almost Victorian blend of rage and good grammar is still a delight.' (Sunday Times)..

STU GOLDSMITH: Prick!

Stand-up comedy for anyone who used to have principles… Everybody who knows Stuart thinks he’s likeable. Really likeable. (“Almost pathologically likeable” according to some **** or other.) Well now the boot’s on the other foot. Come and see what happens when you put baby in the corner. Includes jokes, confessions, the total abdication of responsibility, bullying, a winning smile, a shocking act of violence and one use of the “c” word. This show will make you a worse person.

“Probably one of the most likeable acts on the circuit” Metro

“Consistently, dependably, utterly funny” ***** ThreeWeeks

THURS 12 JULY

MARKUS BIRDMAN: Love, Life & Death

This son of a preacher man, father of a daughter, atheist and dreamer, wonders, where’s God when you actually need him?

‘Beautifully captivating, genuinely charming, and hilarious’ **** Skinny

‘Not an over-exposed, celebrity stand-up, way funnier.’ ***** Talk Fringe, Adelaide

‘Delightfully comic, topical, controversial and personal’ **** List

‘Absorbing, intelligent and funny’ **** Metro

‘Controversial, witty, hip, silly. I laughed so hard it hurt’ BBC

‘Second to none’ **** Adelaide Advertiser

ANDREW BIRD: Global Village Fete

Following last years sold out Edinburgh Festival Andrew returns with a new show to lift the gloom of the modern world with the delightful madness of the village. This time it is global. There will be a raffle.

“COMEDY GOLD…BIRD’S GOING TO BE A BIG STAR, CATCH HIM CLOSE UP NOW” THE SCOTSMAN

“WELL OBSERVED MATERIAL” THE GUARDIAN

“A GREAT STORYTELLER” TIMEOUT

THURS 19 JULY

CHRIS MARTIN: Spot the Difference

Chris is delighted to return to Sheffield with his brand new show for 2012. He’ll explain how to wind up squirrels, show techniques to confuse a pervert and why not liking cheese can lead to violent abuse.

As seen on Dave’s One Night Stand & tour support for Jack Whitehall & Pete Firman.

“Destined for greatness” Sunday Times

“Hilarious” Metro

“A well-deserved sell out…there’s no denying his obvious talent” Edinburgh Evening News

CAIMH MCDONNELL: The Art of Conversation

Join Irish comedian Caimh (Bafta nominee and writer on Sarah Millican Television Programme) on a whistle-stop tour of his own social ineptitudes. If small talk is your kryptonite, then this is the show for you!

An hour of stand-up comedy about people and how they're really not worth the effort. Caimh was never a big fan of humanity and that was before they started throwing up on his doorstep.

'Outstanding' (Telegraph). 'McDonnell's warm, inclusive delivery naturally charms the audience' (Chortle.co.uk). 'Superb' (Manchester Evening News).

THURS 26 JULY

CHRIS RAMSEY: Feeling Lucky

As seen on Celebrity Juice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Russell Howard’s Good News, Argumental and soon to be playing the lead role in brand new BBC Two sitcom ‘Hebburn’, Foster’s Comedy Award Nominee, Chris Ramsey, brings his hugely anticipated new show to venues nationwide on his biggest ever live tour, following his complete sell-out 2012 spring tour, ‘Offermation’.

How did we get here? Elaborately laid plan, or just pure fluke? Who knows… do you feel lucky? Perhaps you should.

“Ramsey has the potential to be a mainstream hit, a cult favourite or almost anything in between” The Sunday Times

”Frighteningly talented… tearing up every stage he lands on” GQ

“A brilliantly engaging natural storyteller” Evening Standard

TOM STADE: Totally Rocks!

Tom is an old friend of the Last Laugh and we are very pleased to announce his only Sheffield warm up date.

Star of BBC1's Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and C4's Stand Up for the Week. Direct from a sell-out UK tour.

'Gloriously funny' ***** (Scotsman).

'Stand-up elite' ****(Chortle.co.uk).

'Sublime' (Rhod Gilbert).

THURS 2 AUG

CARL HUTCHINSON: Acceptable

Carl is taking his debut solo fringe to Edinburgh and as a regular act at the Last laugh since he started open spotting 3 years ago. In such a small space of time Carl has risen to play all the major comedy clubs in the UK and stardom beckons.

He may be young but no skinny jeans or fancy hair for this rising star of UK comedy. World Series winner, Magners Comedian of the Year, So You Think You're Funny? Finalist and Mercury Nominee. As seen on ITV's FHM Stand-Up Hero. Join Carl in his first solo show as he tries to make sense of the world he feels isolated from.

'Don't miss this show - it's quite simply jam packed with funny business, astute observations and razor sharp stand up from one of the UK's best up and coming comedians.' (Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival 2012).

“Effortlessly hilarious. He captivates the audience with his perfectly timed suspenseful silences and plain-talking sense-making.” Three Weeks

“His overriding quality was his reactive nature to the audience.” Open Mic Productions

“Hutchinson’s trump card is the way he interacts with the audience, rolling with every ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ his material generated, giving a dynamism and spontaneity to his performance.” Steve Bennett

John Mathew is also added to this Thursday's bill.

Seems that there is a lot of comedy nights suddenly appearing in Sheffield with varying open spot and amateur line ups, don't forget accept no imitations the Last Laugh is the longest runnning comedy club in Yorkshire and brings only professional comedians to Sheffield. Our history says it all!
