Teddybare
Land sits idle. People with idle land get paid for merely owning land (supposedly so that they grow food). Other people queue to pay to rent land to grow food. (Those people once renting land for food production are denied the ability to sell their produce) It's a bleak, terrible world. I have 2 private allotments gained through squatters rights, so I'm doing my bit to take back idle land . Spuds, onions and asparagus is all that seems to grow well here. Oh and rhubarb. Can't give the stuff away.
Mecky
About four hours, at the time she posted it. Really? I seem to remember it was in the news ages ago. Here's an update from the story on 01/05/2012 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/9239454/Sainsburys-potato-buyer-admits-corruption.html
HeadingNorth
Really? I seem to remember it was in the news ages ago. Logically impossible, since the jail sentence was not imposed until yesterday afternoon.
HeadingNorth
She? Can we discuss this? You'd think, given that I pick a pronoun at random, that I would at least get some of them right some of the time!
Darth Vader
Sainsbury's potato buyer really needs to sauté himself out. So what happened to all the money? Has it been frittered away?
