aandl
With the Olympic torch arriving in sheffield I thought it may be interesting to post favourite Olympic moments. My first memory of the Olymics was the Munich Olympics in 1972 when Olga Korbut brought gymnastics alight with her floor routine and balance on the beam. At the same Mark Spitz' seven gold medals in the pool was remarkable.
mike208
Not sure if 'favourite' is quite right, but one of the most memorable for me was when Derek Redmond's dad came on to the track to help him finish the 400m in 1992 (Barcelona) after he pulled up with a hamstring injury. It was really quite emotional to watch.
chimay
1972 Mark Spitz. I had his posters all over my bedroom wall that summer. I think my favourite Olympic moment from the LONDON Olympics will be the closing ceremony.
ronthenekred
Still brings a lump to the throat, and took what for me was a bland robotic sort of sport into an art form.
