dorisbrown
my car won`t lock when i press the button on my remote key fob, how can i tell if its the key fob or the remote sensors on the car that need replacing, have put a new battery in and reprogamed it as per instructions in hand book thanks
PeteMorris
It's more likely to be the key fob than the sensors in the car. I know it sounds daft, but make sure the contacts in the key fob (where the battery goes) are clean and gunge free (sometimes you have to tease the contacts upwards so that the battery makes good contact with the battery) . Make sure the battery is the right way round, and make sure it's the correct battery, and try again!

PeteMorris
thanks for info put a new battery in about a month ago and it has been working fine, then a few days ago all lights on car started flashing, and its not worked right since Sometimes even 'new' batteries turn out to be duff, or only last a short while. They're mostly made in China and theoretically could have been made years ago, or at least a good while ago, and just 'gone duff'. I'm not that well up on these things. Maybe if you posted the make of the car and model, someone who's a bit more familiar with that particular type of car could answer why the lights flashed and then the C/L seems to have packed up. Generally, when the lights flash like that, it's a sign that there has been an alarm condition triggered for some reason. Maybe there's a way of re-setting it? But it's still worth just trying a new battery, as they're not too expensive!
