‘Canada Connections’ is two programmes of new solo piano music featuring

Canadian and British experimental composers. These programmes demonstrate some of the interconnections and points of contact between composers who may be separated by nearly 5,000 miles but who share many compositional interests and concerns. The first programme (30 October) includes a number of UK premieres of Canadian works, alongside a world premiere by English composer Bryn Harrison. The second programme consists of four newly commissioned works for this project, fresh from their premiere performances. Two young composers, Cassandra Miller (Canada) and Johnny Herbert (UK), have their works positioned alongside pieces

by more established composers from each nation, Martin Arnold (Canada) and Christopher Fox (UK), each of whom also have earlier works performed in the first programme.
