Is touching a woman's bottom "sexual assault"?

Recommended Posts

It's inappropriate and therefore counts as a sexual assault, although I would be very unlikely to go to the police after it happened to me. Part of the reason that I wouldn't have gone to the police would be the assault that I retaliated with, which has involved an assortment of stamping on the foot of the owner of the offending hand (whilst I was wearing heels), towing the owner of the hand around a club by the hair in his moustache (that one was very effective and thoroughly humiliating for the offender) and picking him up to my level and telling him loudly that I didn't appreciate the attention.

I would report things like flashing, mostly just because there is a statistical link between flashers and escalating to other sex crimes, but it's not the sort of thing that I would be likely to feel scarred by or feel 'violated' by. I've lived through being groped in completely inappropriate ways in pubs, clubs, parties and cars and now I'm at the age when it would be very unlikely to happen to me again, but if it did I'm more than capable of defending myself, both physically and emotionally.

Was that an 80s porno 'tache?

that any form of flirting that the recipient doesn't particularly appreciate

Is that not a contradiction?

You can't flirt on your own, and if flirting involves grabbing stranger's buttocks then you might aswell club em over the head and drag em back to your cave and call that a date.

Please don't try and tell me what I'm trying to do. I'm simply trying to start a debate on what constitutes acceptable behavious when drunkenly flirting with the opposite sex in a bar.

If you think groping is a form of flirting then your probably in a minority.
