Murdoch reluctant to invest in the uk

Recommended Posts

He controls it.

What has that got to do with it? Sky produce a product that is valued by its customers and this is why Sky is the top player in the market for the triple packs (TV, Broadband and Telephone) in the UK with over 10 million customers for Sky TV alone!

Until the murdocks are found guilty of a criminal act, I don't give a flying monkeys' who runs the business.

So then we go back to, each to their own. ;)

He controls it.

No he doesn't. Nicholas Ferguson is company chairman along with 12 other board directors - none of who are Murdochs. Since James Murdoch's resignation in April this year no Murdoch offspring has any control over the company whatsoever.

Rupert and the other murdochs are merely shareholders in the company - not even a majority one. Just 39% these days.

The company, namely, BRITISH sky broadcasting should not to be confused or connected in any way to other sky companies which murdoch has far more influence nor foxtel, nor the fox corporation of america nor newscorp which is just a small cog in their thousands of investments.

Oh and finally you anti sky people taking the moral high ground might also want to bear in mind that Murdochs have a 80% stake in Shine Group - which is a lot more interest than they have in sky!!

Who are Shine Group? They are the people who make tv favourites for the terrestrial channels and our nation's bbc such as One Born Every Minute, Merlin, Masterchef, The Magicians, The Office, The Hour and The Biggest Loser.

If he takes sky tv with him all people will be left with is the horrendous programming of low budget period drama slush that bbc and itv choose to fund. :(

Have you seen the quality and quantity of Sky's own produced programmes? Sky Living is like ITV2.

Maybe if Sky didn't outbid everyone else on all the imports they show the shows would be on terrestrial channels.

On the flip side have you seen some of the good home made programmes for Sky 1, Sky Arts and Sky Atlantic.

Better than anything even the BBC has produced recently.

For every trashy tv show there is always a counter to it.
