Harassed by debt collector by email for a £25 ebay debt

Recommended Posts

This is a new one on me the well known ebay debt collectors (SF protocol says we can not mention) have been on my case for a £25 debt that they say I owe it was actually a £15 dispute on Ebay that I refused to pay, but they have added there costs on top they have bombarded me with phone calls for the last few months then sent no end of letters and texts to my mobile now they are sending me email threats, they don't bother me one bit as I have dealt with these kind of people before so I know the ropes when it comes to dealing with them but it is just the desperation and lowness that these scum ball firms will stoop to that gets me mad they are nothing but maggots,it is about time some kind of laws or tougher legislation was brought in to deal with these company's the way they sell debts to each other and chase for money and harass people is getting out of order.

That's your side of the story, can you elaborate on the matter? They must have some valid reason to be hassling you?

It was something I sold on Ebay that a customer gave negative feedback and wanted a refund I refused as they were just trying it on when they sent the goods back it had been damaged and was sent back in the same package open with tape stuck on it Ebay always side on the buyers I did a bit of studying on the buyer and they had no end of disputes with other sellers I just dug my heals in basically Ebay closed my account down so that was that.

I don't blame you for digging your heels in. Some buyers really beggar belief. I sold something once on Ebay and got negative feedback for some aspect of it that was completely unjustified. I've not sold anything on there since, and that was more then 3 years ago!

It's mostly traders on there anyway these days. Ebay doesn't really care about the person that sells the odd bits and pieces on there.

Huh...Typical!

Also, I don't agree with the modern trend of selling debt to various company's for nominal sums, so they can try their luck at squeezing the money out of you, and when they fail miserably, then selling it again to some other company. If someone genuinely believes they owe you money, then take me to court where I can refute the alegation with evidence. Not have some backstreet chancer threaten you with this that and the other!

Which we all know will never happen, they'll just sell the (alleged) debt to someone else who'll try their luck!......It's just a merry-go-round!....the more it's passed around these people, the cheaper they pay for it! So in the end it becomes worthless to anyone, but still they try! :loopy:

A lot of them if you study them they are the same firms just a different department or branch who they think might look a bit more threatening like as though you have been past on on to someone else who is a bit harder than them and might have a better chance of putting the wind up you,all their tactics are just old hat they work on percentages make 100 calls and there is bound to be one or two mugs that will fall for it and pay.
