JONATHAN MAYOR

Jonathan Mayor is developing into a huge cult. He is one of the finest comperes in the country, capable of settling even the rowdiest crowds with savage wit and a high octane stage presence.

When Jonathan arrives, its showtime, engaging the audience both on and off-stage. He is one of the few acts who will not only perform when the stage lights are on, but also wander among the crowd, chatting and charming – truly “hosting” the night. It is this that has made him the most requested compere by audiences at many venues – including as a resident compere at Manchester’s Frog and Bucket, where the list has included Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay, Dave Spikey and Steve Coogan. It also explains the huge variety of work he is asked to do across the country, including burlesque shows, cabaret nights, Pride festivals, biker festivals, corporate occasions, street theatre, gourmet nights at some of Manchester’s top restaurants, balls, weddings, civil partnerships, birthday parties and poetry nights.

As a headline act, Jonathan sets the stage alight with his razor sharp audience banter and stunning charisma. But don’t be fooled by the glitter and glamour, underneath lies an intelligent line of socio-political humour, from a unique and fascinating perspective, He will reduce any audience to hysterics whether they are erudite, worthy, Radio 4 listeners or the drunkest Friday night crowd.

“An incredible presence on the stage. Mesmerising to watch and an extremely articulate improviser. Fantastic.” XS Malarkey

“A true Diva of our times.” Canal-street.co.uk

“bolshy but delightful” Manchester Online

“Stories of his rugby playing days clashed brilliantly with his overly camp persona while his banter with the students was unrivalled.” Mancunian Matters

JOJO SMITH

In the last 13 years JoJo has gone from open spot to late night TV personality, from global fame on the Internet to international comedy performer, not bad going for someone who until then had never stood on a stage in her life.

International performances include two sold out tours of South Africa, Shanghai, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and both the Sydney and Melbourne comedy festivals. Her strong views had her proclaimed a feminist icon in Cape Town, and quite frankly the laid back Aussies wondered what had hit them. Safe to say she made quite an impact!

During the 40-odd episodes of Funny Business that JoJo wrote and presented she made a name for herself as a chat show host of the old school, that is she let the guests do the talking. Fifteen years as a newspaper journalist taught her you get more out of someone if you shut up. Her guests included Jimmy Cricket, Lee Evans, Jo Brand and Rich Hall.

A diagnosis of Repetative Strain Injury combined with an interview with the late, great Bill Hicks, gave JoJo the impetus she needed to take the plunge into the world of stand-up comedy, and she hasn't looked back since.

"Raunchy comedienne, very, very, funny" London Evening Standard

"It's worth seeking out Funny Business on ITV in the early hours of Sunday morning. JoJo Smith pulls off the difficult task of analysing comedy while being funny at the same time" Martin Kelner, Daily Mail

"A manic force, leading where male stand-ups fear to tread" Sydney Morning Herald

"The Most Dangerous Woman in Britain" Cape Argus, Cape Town

"JoJo Smith is a rollicking good stand-up, but she is also so blue she makes Jo Brand look like one of the nuns in The Sound of Music" James Rampton, The Independent

PHIL WALKER

Comedy Clubs to corporate events award winning Phil is the comedian for all occasions. Phil`s act has taken him to some weird & wonderful places, from a scout hut in Unst in the Shetland Isles to a portacabin on mount Alice in the Falkland Islands, basically he`ll go anywhere for a laugh!

Phil is proud to have entertained over 4000 troops on tours in war torn Afghanistan as part of the CSE comedy club which he describes as, "I`ve played to some tough crowds in my time but they where never armed to the teeth with machine guns before, thank God they liked me! His act has become a firm favorite with the armed forces & has seen him touring places as far afield as The Falkland Islands, Kosovo, Kuwait, Bosnia & Germany, appearing with fellow comics as well as megastars including eighties icons Tony Hadley & Bucks Fizz!

He has also recently dipped his toe into the comedy festival scene performing one hour shows at Liverpool, Manchester, Brighton, Southport & Sheffield. Phil is currently working on his new one man show & will be at the Edinburgh festival 2012.
