Seb Coe from Sheffield??? He resided in these parts, (nether regions of Sheffield proper) but I'm certain he wasn't from Sheffield in the true sense; he was not born or bred or moulded by Sheffield, he simply passed through. Correct me if I'm wrong. Seb Coe has never convinced me in any of his interviews that he belonged to Sheffield or was shaped by it in any way.

I know the guy grew up in Sheffield but I just always had this feeling he was detached from Sheffield.

re;Thompson Twins

Wasn't the singer bloke a school teacher in Sheffield... or was it Rotherham... to be honest I can't remember :hihi: I know there was supposed to be some local connection anyway.

:)

Tom Bailey the lead singer was our music teacher at Brook school at Handsworth for a couple of years(early 80's), the rest of the band, there were more than 3 in the early days, were from Chesterfield and Sheffield and one from somewhere else I think.

They hit the charts not long after. He lives in New Zealand now I think.
