Odin's Wrath
What a laughable, infant species we really are. Believing these pre-school fairytales as fact. The worse one of the lot was pretty much stolen straight from the ancient greeks and yet millions still follow it blindly. Pathetic.
donkey
Yes the world will end in 2012. You might as well sell your valuables now. i'll buy them - at the right price.
Anna B
The world won't end in a natural disaster in 2012, but some of the 'elite' people such as the Illuminati will make it out to be the case. They're wanting a depopulation of the world of billions so they can make the controlling of people easier. The people who run the media, music and economy will be planning a false flag senario for us so they can make the planned New World Order by the end of 2012. Lady Gaga, Rihanna and all of the other puppets to these people are in the know.. just read up on it. All you have to do is look at the symbolism in their videos to see that they're preparing for even more mind control of their fans. We'll probably see governments adding more fluoride to the water systems too.. I don't think you need to raise the spectre of the (possibly/probably) illuminati, to see that the world is controlled by a superpowerful few. Just look at the banks in this country, pulling the strings of Government without a doubt.
Ying Yang
I'm open minded to this subject. What's amazing is the convergence of scientific knowledge and spiritual knowledge in this current time period. Watch BBC documentary - What is reality Which examines a theory that we are holographic in nature. Then watch this documentary which is the most scientific and definitive peice of work about 2012 and spirituality.. and combines holographic theories, mind blowing stuff, Can't wait for a 5D universe. Smithster
Global economy on the verge of collapse, revolution and rioting all over the world, giant tsunamis causing massive destruction... Is this the beginning of what the Mayans prophecised would be 'a time of great spiritual awakening?' According to Mayan mythology, October this year (the 28th, to be precise) marks the transition from the Galactic Underworld to the Universal Underworld, and the final stage of human evolution. Historically, these transitions have coincided roughly with huge changes in the advancement of mankind. The previous one, in the mid eighteenth century, was around the same time as the industrial revolution. Prior to that (the time of the cycles reduce by a factor of 26 each time) was around 3,100bc which saw the beginning of city-based societies and written language. If anyone is interested in this subject, I recommend you have a look at this site for starters. It's fascinating in my opinion.

Smithster
Mayan mythology doesn't predict anything for next year. Sorry but Carl Johan Calleman, who has been studying the Mayan calendar since 1979, disagrees... The so-called “end date” of December 21, 2012, that so many Westerners ask about, is based on the time-keeping system known as the Long Count, which was used to compute large cosmic and historical cycles. The Long Count endowed the Maya with a sense of cosmic vision that made them unique. Though all Mesoamerican civilizations made use of the Sacred Calendar, only the Classic Period Maya practiced the Long Count. Whether or not they invented it, they adapted it as their own and made it one of the foundation stones of their culture. In a way, it is a measure of their unique mathematical and philosophical gifts. The Great Cycle—that span of time which began in 3114 BCE and ends upon the much heralded event of December 21, 2012—is part of the Long Count. With the invention of the Great Cycle, the Maya were making a bold and powerful effort to mathematically quantify and define the cycles of world emergence. Large numbers of people have made vast amounts of money by inventing this sort of stuff about ancient civilizations. Erich von Daniken is better known for his Egyptian-pyramid rubbish. flamingjimmy
"According to Mayan mythology, October this year (the 28th, to be precise) marks ... the final stage of human evolution." Any evidence for this assertion? afaik The Mayans did not have any clue what evolution even is.
