cosywolf
When you say "I would think", that gives the impression that you are guessing. It might be pretty important to folk who regularly drive to the park with a car load of kids and use the kids play area, animal farm and cafe to know whether they can actually park and access these facilities. It would be good if one of the organisers gave facts. It avoids disappointment. I'm not an organiser, but was using my common sense. If there isn't an event, there can't be a charge for that event, and they can't close the entire park for it. Perhaps they'll charge for the bouldering championship, but I'm sure it won't require fencing off the whole park. You'll have as much chance of parking as you ever do when there's something going on at Graves, no doubt. Maybe more if the weather doesn't let up. You say there isn't an event then say there is. Are they still intending to put up barriers and stop regular park users from using the main car park, the rose garden cafe, the public toilets and kids play area? There was a charity run in the park last week and they didn't fence off anything or resrtict access at all. The plan until this morning was to fence off the whole of the Deer Park, and I've read nothing that indicates it isn't the plan now. They are still putting on an event and have permission to put up barriers in certain places. I'm not sure that holding half an event allows them to make an arbitary decission to put up barriers around a different area or park without the correct authority. I would be surprised if they fence it all off and charge £7 a head when the only part of the event still available are the bouldering championships and some orienteering. I would, in fact, be as outraged as you. And hundreds of other park users. Therefore I think it is very unlikely that they would. Hopefully there will be further news soon. polo mint
The bouldering championships will still be on though. That sounds like a good excuse for not giving refunds to folk who bought advance tickets
