Rupert_Baehr
More pounds printed and put into circulation. No increase in generation of real wealth. Prices go up. Perhaps mini-gems are seen as a safer investment than pounds?

Perhaps mini-gems are seen as a safer investment than pounds? Midget gems, they're a popular gelatine based sweet in this country. I believe they have a best before date on them, so they might not be good for long term investment.

denomis
Morrissons bread that was once 50p went up to 60 and is promoted as being half price. It has never been 1.20, and if it was I wouldnt go near it. It has to have been on sale at £1.20 in a set number of stores and for a certain time.
spartacus
Yeah, overnight, prices go up a bundle at Asda. Puppy milk from 48p to 68p; Tetleys 4 pack from £2.78 to £3.16. Probably more as well but I walked out after I saw these. Can't wait for Aldi to open next door.
Eric_Collins
When will the star make this non story full front page in inner print ? I'm still boycotting ASDA.

You need to pose for a photo looking glum, pointing at your empty bag of midget gems.
gnvqsos
Price fixing is illegal, but just changing your own prices isn't what's meant by price fixing. If they'd agreed with Sainsbury's, Tesco & Morrisons to all put their midget gem prices up, that'd be illegal price fixing. I fink they do call it collusive practice if reet be reet:hihi:
