shane39
Would air in a high pressure area be less or more dense? Humans can hold their breath longer under water, than on land...

Lounge Jay
Considering all those slave galleys, you'd think we'd enter them in the rowing. Wonders if Redgrave has a slave past. He might have. White people have been used as slaves too.

buck
Other than bone density..which is arguable, no. http://www.afro.com/sections/sports/story.htm?storyid=75479 What factors and who? White runners are as equally good as Black runners. That's what Adolf Hitler thought till he watched Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He thought only blond men were the superrace. It will be interesting to watch the 100 meters in London.

And he didn't think they were equally as good..he thought they were superior for all the wrong reasons.

sci fi
I think there is a possibility of strengths in african races coming from the survival of the fittest over hundreds of thousands of years. When you see the hardship some africans go through during their lives it seems very obvious that the survivors have strength qualities. Also when talking of the slave races then surely the breeding of the strongest slaves to make a stronger work force could also effect size and strength of the slaves children, grandchildren etc. (oh and everyone seems to forget only a small portion of africans where made slaves, the same as small portions of every other race throughout the ages have been slaved at some point or other)
Defunct
Darwins theories of natural selection and survival of the fittest do come into play. "Origin of the Species" is a must read for anyone genuinely interested.

Hunter gatherers died out, (apart from aborigines, and a few other groups) those who turned to farming excelled. I thought black runners were just physically more powerful in their upper legs, than whites (but only over short distances)
