HeadingNorth Posted July 7, 2012 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Local man Jonathan Marray, with his partner Frederik Nielsen, have won the Wimbledon Men's Doubles championship, after receiving a wild-card entry; beating the number 5 seeds in the final in five sets. Well done! This is the first British winner of the men's doubles since 1936; coincidentally, the same year that we last had a British winner of the men's singles. A great start to Sheffielders ahead of the Olympics. There will be celebrating tonight at the Hallamshire Tennis Club where his brother is coach.
