Andy
Great final and well done to both players. Nice that he is now 'based' in Sheffield, but the guy's more scouse than Stevie Gerrard!! Hey, we're claiming him as our own. If he'd lost the headline would have been 'Scouser loses Wimbledon'.

Eamonn Ward
Just posted this on the Star Facebook - they asked how the city should mark the win : "I've seen Jonny at his lowest at Graves Park (Sheffield) around 2009 losing to someone ranked around 700 in a 3rd tier singles, undone by a terrible, crucial, umpire call. And on his way to winning a Challenger doubles in Loughborough in late 2011 - but in front of a handful of spectators. He's always played above himself on the big stage but just struggled to get there. This was two weeks of sustained brilliance on the biggest stage there is. How do we mark it ? - well an Olympics Mixed Doubles selection surely must follow and then there will have to be another Olympic send off. " Nice guys can finish first. Runningman
Congratulations to Jonathan Marray from Sheffield for winning the Men's Doubles Final at Wimbledon today, good advert for our city I think, shame about the Blades. Shame about the Blades !! Bribes scandal, numerous relegations, sacking Dooley at Christmas, April 1989, that well behaved fellow Madine. We can all throw stones or house bricks ! Andy
How long before Marray is granted Freedom of the City? How long before he has his own Sheffield Heros stone outside the Town Hall?
go4it
How long before Marray is granted Freedom of the City? How long before he has his own Sheffield Heros stone outside the Town Hall? How long before Sheffield City Council take an interest in tennis? Marray trains and works at a private tennis club.
Alien52
Hey, we're claiming him as our own. If he'd lost the headline would have been 'Scouser loses Wimbledon'. If his connection to Sheffield was going to the toilet in Meadowhall the Star would hve produced a feature article. If he had eaten out in Leeds Look North would have had a 15 minute slot followed by 10 minutes of Ackroyd gurning.
