My mother used to bribe me and my sister to walk up Shrewsbury Road, by promising us that we could stop of at the sweet place, and have a 1/4 of the fish or other boiled sweets, if we's do it (the walk wasn't just fup Shrewsbury, my mother walked us everywhere:- we'd walk from our house at Highfield, all he way to my grans , or to my two aunts, one on arbourthorne, the other on Norfolk Park, too.
