Mr Hinks
Ken I think did hold all the cards for best fishing, Alex at his fishery now as blown the Springs fishery clean out of the water with his fishery now. From his cafe and shop he just can not be beat, the excellent fishing is tip top. Now the lane as been smartened up he's got the best fishery bar none for miles around. 10 out of 10 for Aston Park. In the past the Springs was better not anymore.
PRESLEY
Load of Rubbish, yes! The best Tackle shop, the best cafe and toilets but the best place to fish and get good results is down on the big one which is known as the Dam wall at Aston Springs, FACT. Mr Hinks
Baring in mind I do not fish at Aston Park now or Aston springs. Aston Park is by far the better venue all round. Your facts are a little down to the venue you prefer, if you believe that Springs has the better fishing then I can not agree. OK you have made your choice as misguided as it is. You have already mentioned the facilities are better. The fishing is excellent at Aston Park, whilst you prefer A Springs I'm sorry you will never convince me. Truthfully Aston Park is tricky to fish because the fish get fished for a lot more than the fish at Springs, get in the know and the fishing can not be bettered. I suggest you have one or two lessons from the chaps at Aston Park, they will show you how to go on if you ask them nicely. No need to lose your rag it is only a suggestion. PRESLEY
I don't need lessons, been fishing fifty years, last sunday we fished the Lily pond from seven thirty to nine thirty we didn't get a bite so we tackled down and moved down to the dam wall and bagged up for the rest of the day, Oh, by the way on leaving the lily we asked other anglers if they were doing owt, they replied, not doing nowt not even line bites , its not a case of losing a rag, I am just stating facts. I must admit a few years ago in the lily there were no probs, always had a good day there, decent size Carp and Bream every chuck, I don't know whats gone wrong since. Mr Hinks
Sorry about my little quip Pres. Truthfully lily is probably the worst pond on the venue for me. Those that call themselves "carp anglers" are to blame for the poor at times fishing. They fill the swim in with their spods full of food to attract carp. I have a concern that carp back away from big piles of bait on commercials especially. Fish on waters where carp get caught on a regular basis need feeding more carefully. Carp on syndicate waters may need large beds of feed to get fish in the swim, our commercials fish better if feeding sparingly. In short big piles of bait work counter productive. A nice example was the lockdown. For one reason or another Kiveton Waters had every peg taken, bites were hard to come by. Now folk are back at work normality has resumed. I agree you are spot about the lily, I forgot mention that when we arrived sunday morning there were several tents located on both sides and the carpark end, you should have seen the size of the bait buckets on the pegs, flippin ridiculous, they had been chucking in Boilies ect from friday tea time, I will stand corrected about Alex's other ponds, split and stable ect l, I havn't fished them for a couple years but always had decent days when I did, I have never fished Kiveton waters but have heard mixed reports about the place, I personal like Horseshoe lake, had some good days there, a variety of fish, not over fed or over fished, there is a lovely young couple who own it now, if you order a sandwhich, the lady brings it to your peg. Mr Hinks
I have know of Horseshoe, never fished there. I prefer to pick a venue and to solely fish that one venue. I can imagine carp anglers are crazy. I prefer silverfish. At the moment I like Kiveton Waters next year who knows.

Sorry about saying load of rubbish earlier, but just lately I'm frustrated and fed up with Alex's ponds, me and my Pal just don't do much there, but like I mentioned on the big KGS pond we really bag up, we have today, I just can't work it out. Mr Hinks
You can speak how ever you like, we all talk rubbish at times. Aston Park really does fish well, there are more than enough anglers that do well up there. I was at KW yesterday and the pond I was on filled up as the morning went on. All the fish have grown on they are getting too big for me. Only around 4 or 5 pounds but my tackle is not really strong enough for carp. Next week I will fish for skimmers for a change.
