NorthernStar
It'd be interesting to know who exactly gets paid what, I read that G4S operatives were expected to acquire their own digs, and pay for their SIA license themselves. I imagine G4S are just another company ran by Bob Diamond wannabes with every intention of milking the public purse for the benefit of arrogant self interested pillocks with mates in high places. Jeffrey Shaw
I am told that, in txtspk, G4S means "Guffaws". How appropriate!

mapleboy
It's a tad more complicated than that. Training takes time. Logistics (transport, digs etc) takes money. According to the g4s gaffers grilling security guards got a sia(?) licence and £8 an hour. Management to get £57million bonus. Yes, I can see how that's a good thing. No. Wait. I work for a private firm that does a very significant amount of work in the public sector. I can confirm that by no stretch of the imagination is the taxpayer getting good value for money on THAT particular contract.
