Hello - we lived at number 17 on the opposite side. We could run down the hill from Upperthorpe school right into our back garden. Moody's was the corner shop. They sold Fletchers bread and egg custards which were tuppence each. I loved them. Hughes was the beer off shop at the end of the street in Woollen Lane. Mrs. Bingley sold potatoes and veggies out of her front room in Kelvin St. My mother & dad lived there from 1930 with 3 children and we finished up with 7. Happy Childhood for me. All the neighbours were like family.
