Santo
"a pair of speakers halfway down" - that would only work if you put a delay on the front ones. Quite expensive, that. The complaint is about vocals being lost in the mix. Delay towers wouldn't solve that either? The singer needed his channel turned up by the sound of it. Terraplane
Whoever takes it on they'll need deep pockets to get it up and running that's if they intend trying to keep the live music tradition going. There's no PA in there for starters plus I'm told the previous people ripped the stage out. A good promoter with contacts would be a must to raise it above pub act level and to get it back on the map quickly. Hope they can save it though, such a shame to be stood empty. BHRemovals
The boardwalk was by far the best live music venue in Sheffield. Friday nights used to be brill when tribute bands and acoustic angels often played.

markfor
Yes I played there once! The Boardwalk was a venue that like many other bands i played o numerous occassions. It was a fantastic venue and had a legendary past. Is the plan to just let it fall to pieces?? I know the O2 is just around the corner but it isnt as accessible for bands just starting out etc. Surely someone outthere has fond memories of the place and could afford to invest to carry on the legacy. Terraplane
I know Chris, who was the promoter at the Boardwalk for many years, was deep in conversation with William, the owner of Shakespeare's, at the Kelham Island pub on Tramlines weekend. Is there a plan taking shape? Hope so.
