MrBump
I would much rather see the Co-op get the branches over HSBC or Santandar. There are cobwebs in most corners of a business. At least they are trying to do the right thing as best as possible whilst trying to keep up with the big boys.
green
In my experience, yes. All CRS (Co-operative Retail Services) employees are forced; as a condition of employment; to have their salaries paid in to a Co-operative Bank account. Co-op Bank’s charges as high as, if not higher than, the equivalent charges from other high street banks, and their marketing of other services is very aggressive. As an aside, during the miner’s strike the manager of a CRS store in West Yorkshire was sacked for giving food that was damaged (dented cans etc.) or that had gone out of date that day to the Miners Wives Support Group, rather than putting it in the skip. “You caring, sharing Co-Op!” Yeah, right! Total crap. I moved 2 business accounts from Barclays last year and saved over £10k I moved 3 personal this year, and the fees are EXACTLY the same with added benefits. gnvqsos
Lets hope that the usual high standards of the Coop are not compromised by the ethics of Lloyds TSB.
algy
Moved my 2 current accounts to the Co-op from HSBC last year after 40 years. Best move I made. And now HSBC are suspected of laundering drugs money in Mexico. Even more glad I moved.
gnvqsos
People should stop this beatification the Co-Op. Having worked for them a few years ago, I can assure you that the Co-operative Society is as ruthlessly commercial as any other corporate entity, and lot worse than some. You could only state this if you had worked for other organs otherwise it reeks of bitterness.
silverknight
It will be interesting to see which branches & accounts Lloyds group have sold to the Co -op. Will it be a mix or just one former network of C & G - Lloyds - TSB - Halifax. My guess the former C & G network.

I actually said: "Having worked for them a few years ago...." You idiot! Why would I be bitter? I resigned and I now earn six times what I would have had I stayed.
