Ten pound scratch cards..

Recommended Posts

You have not a 50/50 chance as there are some neutral numbers which give the casino scope to rip off the mugs who gamble there.

the casino has to cover major overheads, the zero gives the dealer a 3% advantage, the odds are miles better then dogs / horses / scratch card where a large % goes to good causes

What about the entrance fee, expensive drinks and the rest-these extras erode the real odds of a win but many foolish people discount them.

It's free to get in, and you get free hot drinks too...not that I'm advocating casino's or anything!

Its not where I go,and I dont drink cocoa when I am gambling-it hardly going to impress the table groupies seeing a fat bald lad supping Horlicks etc. when laying a £500 bet

you have just as much chance buyin ten one pound scratchcards then one ten pound one.... i win regularly on theone pound ones

That's so true, surely it makes more sense to buy 10 £1 ones, as you've got 10 chances of winning instead of just one.

Very few people ever work out the expected value of a gamble - whether they don't understand the concept, or just can't be bothered, I could not tell you.

Instead, all that really catches their eye is the value of the biggest prize they can win. If you buy ten £1 scratchcards, you cannot win four million pounds.

The £10 cards have a sequence of ten numbers as is the case with the more expensive premium bonds. Also by your own logic you have tens times the chance of losing:hihi:
