Can you legally, physically defend yourself against police brutality ?

Recommended Posts

I have heard that even pointing a camera or recording device at anyone of the uniformed services is an offence.

From your link...

one month after Section 58(a) – a controversial amendment to the Terrorism Act – came into force, making it illegal to photograph a police officer if the images are considered "likely to be useful" to a terrorist.

Personally, I don't think a video of a police officer beating somebody would be considered "likely to be useful" to a terrorist.

EDIT: also this...

After officers made calls to the police station, possibly for legal advice on the situation, the handcuffs were removed and Atkinson was released.

She said the officers walked away – all but one of them refused to identify themselves to her.

The article is actually about the woman going to court about the police officers' actions, showing that she can film them.
