sci fi Posted July 28, 2012 Share Posted July 28, 2012 As a kid I read a book called The People Shapers by Vance Packard. part of it was about performing social experiments on the masses and on individuals. This is quite an old book now but what I read still haunts me today. With the use of TV's, CCTV, Radio, Control over the water supply (more over what goes in to it) control over food supplies, etc, etc, it seems more likely than ever that some one some where will be performing some experiment or another on the masses or on individuals, either rogue groups of scientists or sanctioned scientists from which ever country. I find it terrifying to think people are capable of such terrible things but the more crazy things get the more obvious it seems that some one is playing us all like a fiddle. Is it a book review? ha ha, ok sorry, Im new to this, I guess I would like to discuss ideas about the possibilities of experiments upon us the people by outside agents, be it for what ever reasons. Ie to make us comply with rules, to make us riot, to make us spend money to make us save money etc. Or simply to keep us thick and out of the larger picture. Rupert_Baehr Posted July 28, 2012 Share Posted July 28, 2012 I Understand that they released a mixture of gases at a government site in South Central Sheffield last year. Nothing really toxic - the mix contained about 78% Nitrogen, though. Apparently, plants can 'fix' Nitrogen from soil and use it to grow. If people could also fix Nitrogen, they might need less food. I'm not sure what the results of the experiment were, but the experiment was curtailed as there was some concern about induced paranoia amongst those living locally who were exposed to the gases. This the most recent event but no "proof" other than reading this book and other reading matter. And taking in the general feel of what is happening around us.
