callippo
no need to panic, Sharm El Sheikh hasn't been bombed by Islamic lunatics since 2005, when 11 British tourists were among the 90 killed.

Tess
If you've been before you'll know all about the gippy tummy, so will no how to avoid it! As a reminder - bottled water, don't eat fruit you can't peel (as its been washed in tap water), same applies to salad, wash your hands after touching the money and don't let yourself get dehydrated! Teddybare
It's the sharks you wanna worry about, not the Arabs. Some of the most beautiful desert landscape in the world is in Sinai. If you get chance/£ to hire a vehicle there's loads of things to do. We used to go every summer and rent a beach hut for a couple of weeks. Awesome place. Some people fly to Egypt proper for a pyramid excursion but it involves some kind of visa arrangement. Not sure if you could sort it out whilst there. Its about due for another then. They seem to have been leaving killing tourists to the sharks in recent years.
