Bonzo77
It's a good thing. It can only be a good thing. The fact that people abuse it has nothing to do with it. It's like saying "the wheel is a bad invention because people steal and crash cars".
Bonzo77
I think it's a stupid thing Facebook is a stupid thing, yet you have almost nine and a half thousand posts, in Sheffield Forum?!? And you live in America??!!??

Any sort of tool, be it a computer program, mechanical tool, the invention of the wheel or whatever, is neither good nor bad - merely useful. The question of good or bad applies upon the uses to which it is put - which depends on people, not on the tools.

Facebook is a fantastic invention. In an age where people are less and less community spirited, it has brought people together again.
Mister M
Personally I Hate Facebook and would never have an account. However one of the key revolutionaries in Egypt that dislodged Mubarak from power said afterwards that Facebook was a useful tool for those facilitating and wanting to join in creating the dictators downfall. Still, Facebook was also one of the means by which the rioters in London communicated with one another. Can be used for good or bad. Or in most cases for banal reasons.
