skinz
Vacuous over athleticism will always win Gold. You can't make a role model out of an athlete, an athlete can become one though.
Teddybare
They would make much better role models for our children than such as Jordan, Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole and all the other so-called celebrities. Yup. Modern day heroes. They should all get knighthoods and a gold post box painted in their honour. Especially the sprinters, who spend way more time self-publisizing and making money on adverts than they actually do running. Usain bolt is a legend. All this build up and excitement, then it's over in under 10seconds. Back next year for another ten seconds. While I agree that they would make far more positive role models than "celebs", unless you're kid wants to be an athlete it's pretty irrelevant. I'd rather my kids idolised people with a bit more about them, who achieve things for the benefit of others. Not a group of people who struggle to string 5 words together in a sentence.
