I'm very doubtful. Loud, robust argument continues because atheists and non-religious theists and theologians find it interesting, they don't dislike it, they love it. The only people that don't like it are people who don't want to change their minds.

.

Great point.

Surely, though, it applies to most subjects discussed on here.

I do prefer to encourage people to think for themselves.

Have another look at the post after mine; the one you replied to; the one Chris wrote.

Passively educating. Yay. I may have been drinking. You really are going to have to spell it out.

I fear I might be repeating myself but here is your statement again:

"I can't help but think atheists who vigirously attack and mock a believer with the aim on convincing them to the atheist point of view is not only a pointless and futile task, they're ironically engaged in the sort of behaviours they so dislike of the religious types"

You just have to show me that there are indeed some atheists that try to convince religious people of their point of view, but dislike it when they hear religious people try to convince them of theirs.

Prove me wrong.

So, by your assertion, atheists love religious proselytising, and equally love preaching their own non-godliness. In order for you to prove this, you need to disprove that there are not any atheists who don't particularly want to convince others that god does not exist.

By my assertion? I've not said that at all. I basically said that argument exists because people like arguing, and some of these will be atheists.

1. I think I need to run this bit through Babel Fish. I'm not sure if it makes sense.

2. I don't need to prove something that I've not said.

3. Would you be trying to distract from your inability to defend your own statement here?

Other. Atheism is a religion for people with no imagination.

If you didn't realise I was taking the peace. I apologise. I forgot the laughing smileys. :hihi:

Surely' date=' though, if you believe in something, you don't consider it to be imaginary.[/quote']

I am an atheist by choice. It would seem you were looking in the wrong place for someone to argue with. Typical atheist. and the "pinning my supposed mistake on the blackboard" first reply was a classic teacher move. Haha.

That's why I had no idea what you meant.

Bizzare.

Why not try re-writing it in the morning?
