DanielH
Anyone fished the Tinsley stretch much this year? Only seem to be able to get perch and roach from this stretch and I'm wondering if anyone else has managed to get much more out other than the big carp that I know are in there. sheff 13
Martin Read who writes a column in Sheffields Angling Star, writes that British waterways have offered for licence the fishing rites for the Sheffield & Tinsley canal from Cadman Street Bridge to Holmes lock. Also on offer is the Fossdyke from Torksey Lock to Brayford Bridge, & the river Witham from Lincoln to Kirkstead Bridge.
Pegasus
Fished the first basin down from the lock keepers house for about three hours last Thursday and had a dozen quality roach up to and around the two pound mark, the usual bits and skimmers and three quality bream around three pounds each. All on caster up in the water and on the drop between six to nine meters use a light elastic. Take a couple of pints and feed a little and often. All of the fish were in very good condition. carpetviper
Yeah plenty of silver in the canal. I use single white maggot and keep chucking a few in I also have 3 carp rods in but they can be pretty elusive without really baiting up.
attercliffe3
why do we put up with all this illegal fishing, because no one will do anything about it,were i live the Sheffield and tinsley canal is being decimated by illegal fishing, you name it there doing it,and the legal fishing people are suffering by lack of fish to catch and intimidation by them,we pay our license fee to catch fresh air,we report it and nothing is done, all this spoils a beautiful experience, for young and old. why do we have to move on?,why do we have to find other fishing venues, its time to act,to come down hard on these people, not just a slap on wrist. Swalk
Hi there, I'm thinking of doing a bit of spinning down on the canal. Any advice or tips?
