How do I find out if a company is genuine?

Recommended Posts

Whenever I want an answer to a question like this I always GOOGLE IT.

Just put the name of the company in Google and if they are not a reputable company you should find entries from people who have already suffered and have taken the trouble to make their experience known.

Sound advice, but a lot of fraudsters will change their company names and contact details very quickly.

I've been looking at local companies for some building work that may need doing later this year, I spotted a van this morning doing some work, so took their details did a companies house check came back as they had been Liquidated in 2010, but are still using a vehicle under there old name and trading under another that isn't on the records of Companies house.

My advice is to be as careful as possible, but even then be prepared for to go pear shaped.

MONEY LAUNDERING!!!! Please do not have anything to do with this "company". You could be liable to so many criminal charges including fraud.

Why are they transferring money - drugs, weapons, people trafficking etc and you would be an accessory to any of the above.

Yes I think so. I phoned the number several times and it went onto a message. The guy in the message stated that he was Kyle and was away from his desk at the moment, but I could leave a message.I did not bother.

He sounded like a foreign (probably Asian) person attempting to talk in an American accent.

Well, so long as you are enjoying yourself that's all the matters.
