G20 Pathologist struck off

Recommended Posts

The pathologist who wrongly said that Ian Tomlinson had died from heart problems has been struck off.

"In total, 68 failings were identified by the service in Dr Patel's work on the case of Mr Tomlinson.

Reacting to the ruling earlier in the week, Mr Tomlinson's widow, Julia, said Dr Patel's "incompetence" had given the family "an uphill battle for justice from the start"."

It wasn't just the one case either:

"Last year, Dr Patel was given a four-month ban for dishonesty and omitting key findings after examining the body of a murder victim who he said had died from natural causes.

He also served a three-month suspension for failings in other cases and had been removed from the official register of approved forensic pathologists."

Why were the police using such an incompetent and dishonest person in the first place? I wonder how many other examples of his ineptitude were not discovered.

He could have been bent rather than just incompetent.

A sly back hander here or there and bingo, you have a favourable report.

It would be necessary to employ corrupt professionals to maintain a corrupt police force, surely to lie to a court is perverting the course of justice and criminal charges should by rights now follow.

PC Harwood should be tried again, now that we know that evidence put forward was not the truth and the jury was clearly misled.

Because he could be leant on to give them the report they wanted.

Otherwise perhaps he wouldn't be asked to work for them again and would lose that income...

You see how it works?

The competent and honest pathologists found that PC Simon Harwood killed the man.

You want to keep trying him over and over until you finally get a result you agree with?

Justice?

I think not!

He carried two post mortem on him, why was he allowed to do the second unsupervised on such an important case when he got a 4 month suspension the year before which involved similar errors?

I don't think we will ever find out the reason, but at the end of the day, he did and that's that
