How can this be a life sentence

Recommended Posts

why not bring in suspended animation ('suspended' sentence) convicts can be frozen until we find out they were innocent and stitched up and then they can be brought back to life - the meantime they are all but dead to satisfy the nutjobs.

Why not bring in suspended sentences for murderers, on the end of a rope via a trapdoor would do nicely and act as a deterrent in stopping them doing it again.:)

In a world of finite resources and 7 billion humans there is little point in keeping a murderer alive, we kill dogs just for biting someone, we kill sharks just because they eat a passing swimmer, why not kill a murderer?
because it dosent happen in this country. instead we give them computer games/ 3 meals a day/ and wages if they work :loopy:

They might as well be dead when they wake-up and find their families have grown old and died. Next...

Applying for it doesn't automatically grant it.

Agreed. Just because a prisoner can put in for parole doesn't mean they will get it and be released. When, and if, they do get parole they are not "just released" they are released "on license" which means if they commit the slightest misdemeanor then they immediately get sent back to prison and have to then complete the remainder of their sentence (usually without parole being offered again).

And does all that apply in Scotland, then?
