How can this be a life sentence

Recommended Posts

Turns out you are wrong

http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/facts-about-deterrence-and-death-penalty

'Eighty-eight percent of the country’s top criminologists do not believe the death penalty acts as a deterrent to homicide'

It’s meant to be a punishment and not a deterrent and it not proven whether it deters murder or not.

But if we did execute murderers and there isn’t a deterrent effect, then all we have done is killed some murderers.

If we don’t execute murderers, and doing so would have deterred other murders, we have now allowed the killing of a bunch of innocent victims.

The first option looks to be the better choice.

Does that include innocents found guilty? Or are you saying the minority are a price to pay?

why not bring in suspended animation ('suspended' sentence) convicts can be frozen until we find out they were innocent and stitched up and then they can be brought back to life - the meantime they are all but dead to satisfy the nutjobs.

Oh you mean like Demolition Man, you mean its not true :D

Chemical castration doesn't stop a person from gaining an erection nor does it stop the desire to have sex. So chemical castration would not stop someone from commuting further rapes.

Okay then sorry always thought it did, just chop their crown jewels off, call it circumcision with a new twist.

i suppose this bloke would have been killed in your ideal world http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7052109.stm well done :loopy:

DNA evidence would have proven him innocent in today’s courts, which makes your point irrelevant to the argument about reintroducing the death penalty for convicted murders.

The investigation found that semen discovered on Lesley's clothing contained heads of sperm. Mr Kiszko, however, was infertile.

:roll:idiot

Rolling the eyes isn't an answer.

Your argument is because murders go on to kill, ignoring those innocents that have been killed are a price to pay.

Are you prepared to put your children's life up as a surety that the system gets it right?
