But if we did execute murderers and there isn’t a deterrent effect, then all we have done is killed some murderers. If we don’t execute murderers, and doing so would have deterred other murders, we have now allowed the killing of a bunch of innocent victims. The first option looks to be the better choice. So chemical castration would not stop someone from commuting further rapes. Okay then sorry always thought it did, just chop their crown jewels off, call it circumcision with a new twist. Your argument is because murders go on to kill, ignoring those innocents that have been killed are a price to pay.
