Money Entitlement

Hi all

 

I'd really appreciate some advice.. I just finished at University and officially finish on 14/09. I originally got a bursary which helped cover living costs as the course was a vocational one. I have a job to go into from mid October but won't get paid until end of November. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could claim something to help us along with living costs until then? E.g job seekers?

From the University of Birmingham fact sheet: "

You can sign on when you have completed your final term of your final year, as long as you are not still receiving funding.

You must be actively seeking work and you must be fit for work."

The only thing I'm worried about is because I already have a job so I wouldn't be actively seeking work?

Presumably you will be for the 4 weeks until you start work.

Just sign on untill you start the job, don't say anything.
