Obscure terms that are apparently offensive.

There's another thread going about the cabinet reshuffle, which talks about the definition of "moron".

 

A lot of what we think of as derogatory terms originated as clinical definitions - moron, imbecile, idiot. Is it OK to call someone an idiot if they're behaving in a less than intellegent way?

 

Would love to know where the term "window licker" comes from though, I find it quite funny, not sure why it would be offensive, as no-one seems to know who it referrs to specifically.
