Just done an oil change on my MK5 Golf TDI only to be read after on the web that i should have used a new sump plug ? Is this essential? its an alloy sump so dont want risk stripping threads All you need is a new washer but the dealers will want to sell you the plug and washer as a set because sometimes the washer is designed not to come off the sump bolt,dont worry about the threads.
