Some people "go" a couple of times a day, others can go days and days, without "going". and you'll find people at all points between the two points. Was he normally "regular". and suddenly stopped "going"? Or is it that he normally doesn't "go" for a week? If he thinks it's a problem, the best thing to do is for him to ask his GP about it. If you have changed bowel habits for over a couple of weeks, or are encountering bleeding, then the recommendation is to seek your GP's advice.
