mumkin Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 The peasents built Chatsworth, then watched the rich live in luxury, now the peasents are paying for it's up keep, why dont the royals stump up the 14 million or the devonshires, because it's only bus fare to them. Slap me silly! what am I talking about that lot don't pay for owt. If the "peasents" (as you call them) or peasants didn't want to pay then they wouldn't. The peasants that work in Chatsworth and on the estate get a very reasonable wage... some actually get "free" housing. Chatsworth is a charitable trust and funded by events such as the fairs etc and selling it's own farm produce. What have the "Royals" got to do with this?
