Pinnacle PAT
if she walked out on him i think she cant get anything Cant be true, relationships breakdowns all the time for whatever reason. I cant imagine just because someone decides to end it means they lose any rights to their house
milliardo
If it's a joint mortgage, it will be split 50/50 regardless of who made the payments. My OH went through this and got that from a Solicitor.

Pinnacle PAT
Im lucky, me and wife split up amicably and she didnt want the house, possibly because it was in negative equity. Maybe it would have been different if there was equity in it.
Brunette
I think she can ask for half of the equity in the house at the time that she left. Which is more or less what I got when I left my ex husband. If the equity was zero at the time, then she'll get nothing. She isn't entitled to half the value of the house, as they don't own it, the mortgage company do. See a solicitor. x

You can only get what equity is in the house which come after everything else has been deducted including estate agent fees, solicitors etc etc, then what is left, you split.
