PeteMorris
It's clever ( read sensationalist) headline writing at the root of all this ..... would the same emotional response come from "CCTV Cameras in schools .... and some are in rooms where there are washing and toilet facilities" ? I have been one of the responsible persons ( or perverts as some on here would believe to read their posts ) charged with looking after the system and reviewing footage when required. I am enhanced CRB checked - twice, and have had the unpleasant task of reviewing CCTV footage ..... unpleasant in the fact it is bloody boring. Access to the system was/is very strictly controlled ..... senior staff and the technicians only ..... and most of the staff didn't have the time (or the know how, if truth be told) to use the software. It is very much an "in house" system. The toilet cams don't let you "see" any more than a camera in a corridor or stairwell would let you "see", but the fact the camera was inside and not outside found vandals and bullying amongst other things. I certainly didn't get any sort of kick from looking at images and finding it extremely insulting reading the posts of some of the froth at the mouth, knee jerk commentators on here. The cameras are there for protection of everyone in the school - the footage clearing a teacher of an assault accusation by a student is proof - as is the footage that traced where a vulnerable child had run off to when they bolted from a classroom - both examples I have personally been involved with. There are far more shocking and revolting things on your kids mobile that you know nothing about ( the happy slapping, the pre-arranged ambush, the obnoxious text bullying ) than some people think is happening with CCTV in a school - I know, I've recovered the files! ( and btw with the police watching for evidential purposes ). Did I intimate or say in ANY of my posts that all people who review these things are perverts? NO I DIDN'T...So please don't tarnish my opinions with your sensationalist response!

BLADE8T1
Well they are installed in my kids toilets(at school lol).Am I bothered by it?..NO. If kids know that the only place that isn't monitored is in the toilets, then surely thats the place they will choose to bully others,in my opinion. And to mention peeping toms and perverts, well these people need to look more into the (non)story, and not the headline!. Forget the cameras,I am more scared of you passing these views onto your kids. alchresearch
Forget the cameras,I am more scared of you passing these views onto your kids. That's a concern of mine too. Parents with such closed, tiny minds, easily swayed by the media, in charge of children. They're the ones who should be under scrutiny! These are some of the best so far from this thread: Whats the difference here between this and a peeping tom!!, im sorry but tjis is just wrong on so many levels!! I find it disturbing. Imagine what social services would say if you told them you film your kids whilst they are changing or using the toilet. Family courts anyone? Regardless of my reasons for objecting dont you think we are being filmed/recorded enough? The most CCTV'd country on the planet! Enoughs enough!! Perverts , pure and simple. And to think these people are running our schools and are in charge of our children.

gnvqsos
Give it a rest!...Can't you make a post without obtuse insults? Can you identify whom I am insulting? It is easier to make the insults claim than refute my point, which seems rather lazy.Given you raised these issues you must be responsible for subsequent comments generated. gnvqsos
Well it has worked. Boys tend to have a scrap on the playground whereas girls will wait for the victim and attack them on the sly. Unisex toilets stop that kind of thing. I believe they have been successful in a secondary school near Bents Green.
