Owethemnowt @ #16:

Your whole thesis is spurious, bizarre and bordering on the paranoiac. That you consider it "carefully worded", is worrying. Amongst other inaccuracies your point about the peace talks in NI being the consequence of the increasing birth rate of Catholics is factually incorrect.

Biggest problem and cause of the expansion of the far right is the loony left. Every left wing organisation I have had to join (namly trade unions) or avoided (ie the anti facist groups) on their executive are racist positions. These include a womans officer, black and ethnic officer and lesbian and gay officer. So before the left criticise the right wing facists (which I cant stand by the way) they should get their own house in order. When they stop having these racist and sexist positions they are in a better position to fight the facists.

You don't have to join any union, the closed shop went years ago.

The Guardian is the mirror image of the Daily Mail. Both have an agenda and they will print anything to support this agenda.

If promoting progressive politics leading to a more egalitarian, just society counts as an agenda these days, I have not got a problem with it.

Both know nothing of the whole truth.

May I ask who does ?

In May this year at least 6 of the English Democrats candidates at the council elections in Barnsley were ex-BNP. At least 5 of these had stood for the BNP before including 2 at parliamentary level. The Mayor of Doncaster is also on record for having praised the Taleban for its family values. Another member in Leeds, Chris Beverley, works for Andrew Brons the BNP's MEP for this region and yet another ED member is Eddy Butler who used to be the BNP's national organiser. The ED may claim to be BNP-lite but they're obviously not too lite.

Surely right wings views are acceptable as long as they are not racist? The right are not unique in their racism, remember Nazi is the abbreviated form of National Socialist. If you strip away the fascist and racist part of Hilters policies many of them , full employment, free health service, etc. are socialist.

Well yes - the Nazis were a mixture of left and right policies, so calling them the far right does not make so much sense to me. I guess its just semantics in the end. The only danger is people might not realise that (some) socialists too were rather enthusiastic about Nazi policies. So the danger does not just come from those on the right of the spectrum.
