Why does discrimination still exist

Recommended Posts

We humans discriminate every day, its just not that obvious to us until someone else points it out. We will always favour those who are genetically similar to ourselves, that is human and the nature of animals throughout the world. This doesn't make it right though, just that there is nothing wrong with you for second guessing this kind of reaction and realising you are not an animal, but a human who has the ability to challenge these kinds of things.

The labour party does when they elect the NEC. Unison (my union) does to name two examples. If you look at every left wing organisations structure they will have these officers. The term is positive discrimination. As if that makes it ok to discriminate.

You think that having an officer to represent minorities is discrimination?

When every other officer is most likely from the mainstream?

Stop trolling.

Yes having an officer to represent any group is discrimination they should be representing all sections of that organisation not just one. Imagine the uproar if there was a white officer or a straight officer or even a officer representing men. All people should be treat equal.

There is discrimination against gay, disabled and female in the workplace and in society as a whole, there is empirical evidence to clearly show this, do you not think there should be an uproar about that?

The response of organisations like trade unions, to campaign against this form of discrimination by amongst other things having subgroups in their organisations is simply sensible. What's the big deal.

As others have said if the boot was on the other foot and white, straight and male officers were treated unfairly, paid less, subject to bullying because of their status then no there wouldn't be an uproar about measures introduced to challenge that discrimination.

What special treatment do you think gay, disabled or women are geting that you are missing out on?

There is no need for any officer to represent those groups as nearly every official in general will be a member of those groups.

I don't see how this is difficult to understand

You have people holding office in these organisations representing everyone. Then there are these positions representing the minority groups. Hence. A woman has one more person representing her issues than a man. A gay person one more than a straight.

Men only institutions are just about banned in this century yet we still have positions that only women can apply for or only a black person can apply for. Its the left hypocracy that they fight discrimination by setting up discriminatory institutions of their own under the guys of "positive discriminiation.".

It's not rocket science. Perhaps it's just you that fails to grasp it.
