retep
Why can't they vaccinate both cattle and badgers? Does the vaccine affect the meat or milk produce? Barriers to vaccination of cattle against TB and what is being done to change the law. Vaccination of cattle against TB is currently prohibited by EU legislation. http://www.defra.gov.uk/animal-diseases/a-z/bovine-tb/vaccination/cattle-vaccination/
MadManMoon
So that is why he looks so worried.:hihi: Could be. I believe every bit of presure helps. I'm just about to make his week even worse by Tweeting him that Gloucestershire have said NO to Badger Cull. Good chance Somerset will follow. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-22544285 ---------- Post added 24-05-2013 at 18:18 ---------- Badger Cull petiton going up and up. Please sign if not already done so. Science and public opinion are against Badger Cull. Its mainly NFU who want to slaughter Badgers and the reason the Tories are going along with it is because NFU make brib...er I mean donations to them. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/38257
llamatron
clearly the cull is a ridiculous and horrific idea but ignoring that for a second-if there is a reduction in tb is the aim to make the badger extinct:huh: thats the only way there is even a limited point to these trials
taxman
Owen Patterson recently told the Sunday Times that he would like to see 20-25 years of hard culling. Which doesn't lead me to believe he sees vaccination as a viable alternative. Or maybe he just likes killing wildlife. frededwards
The NFU are being very quiet about the fact that after the decimation of the national herd during the fot and mouth outbreak, they rushed to restock without doing any TB screening of the beasts they were importing and breeding from. Maybe this has something to do with the increased incidence of bovine TB in recent years. Just a thought....................
maelstrom
The cull has been going on for a week now in Somerset and started last night in Gloucestershire. If you can, please donate to Sheffield Saboteurs to help with fuel and equipment costs, as they're in both zones helping to save badgers and will be there for the duration of the cull. Many thanks http://www.gofundme.com/3zxs70
